It's Christmas Time Again

Volunteers

The Foundation is presently looking for volunteers to:
  • find businesses, groups or individuals wishing to advertise at a very low cost in the Festival program of 18th and 19th September 2010.
  • fill out grant applications, translate English tests into French and proofread French texts
  • invite LOCAL businesses, groups and organizations of all kinds to participate in the parade or to have a table/booth at Lamoureux Park
  • recruit LOCAL artists (performers) for Echoes of the World Series, and artisans for the festival. The people will be promoted permanently on the website free of charge all year round,
  • recruit LOCAL product vendors for the festival,
  • help with the festival activities and contests,
  • act as contact for their country or origin (must speak the language of the country) , and
  • carry the 289 flags constituting the genetic make up of Akwesasne, Cornwall and SD&G.

  • Make invitations lists
  • Distribute invitation and posters
  • Sell discount passports
  • Preparing judges contest packages and registration forms

PEOPLE’S AND KITEFEST 18TH AND 19 SEPTEMBER

  • For tent activities: sales of T-shirts order, discount passport, memorabilia, programs, silent auction, etc.
  • Presence around the park required, people will wear security vest from the city
  • Sort and distribute flags and sashes and set up at St Lawrence college at 8:00 am 18 September
  • Registration for all kinds of contests at St Lawrence and Lamoureux Park
  • Put adhesive tape around rental space and set up at Lamoureux park 8:00 am 18th September
  • Carry 300 flags during the parade

Please note: No one on the Board of directors or the Volunteers’ Committee gets paid. The money collected from fundraisers is used to defray the cost of organizing the fundraisers and the remaining goes to the selected charities of 2008 and the Light in the Tunnel Program (a program for developmentally challenged of all ages and background of our surrounding areas).
