Introduction

Dear friends

The Committee of the Foundation of the Parade of Nations invites you to join us in this annual parade and festival to be held on 18 and 19th of September 2010. This is the 4th annual parade and the 2nd Festival.

The parade start at St. Lawrence College at 10:30 am but the judging of the floats is at 9:30 am. The parade will proceed west on Montreal Road up to the Civic Complex. Awards will be given at 1:00 pm. The theme of the parade is “Arts and Hobbies of the World.”

Decorated vehicles and groups of all kinds are welcome to participate.

It is not a venue for political and religious propaganda.

Festival purpose

This festival is all about us. This is the people’s festival and a venue to:
  • Thank everybody for what they are doing for their community.
  • Acknowledge everyone’s personal accomplishments no matter the size.
  • Promote Akwesasne, Cornwall and SD&G’s artists, artisans, performers, dancers, writers, all businesses contributing to the growing regional economy, all profit and non-profit organizations, clubs, sports teams, schools, religious congregations, and groups of all kinds.
  • Celebrate our ancestral origins and traditions.
  • Fundraise for the Foundation Programs: “A Light in the Tunnel” for developmentally challenged individuals of our area and the “One-on-one Crisis Intervention” for an individual with specific needs and animal cruelty.

Enclosed is the information about the float registration and criteria. If you have questions, please send an e-mail to info@pardeofnations.com , call Marie Morrell at 613-936-6873 or visit www.pardeofnations.com
