The President Maria Ma of The Cornwall Chinese Community Association is challenging all ethnic groups and other associations of our  Community to put a float in the parade event of the People’s Festival of the Foundation of the Parade of Nations.

Looking for donations

We are looking for cash donations to defray the cost of media advertising and sound system (every penny counts), gifts-in-kind for our silent auction and hundred of volunteers, for numerous activities and to carry the 300 nations’ flags composing the genetic make-up of Cornwall, Akwesasne and SD&G.

Fundraising Campaigns: Flag pole engraving

With a donation of $10.00, your name goes on the flag pole with the country’s name and name of the person who paid for the dowel. You will be remembered for ever. To participate send a cheque payable to Parade of Nations at 1621 Joyce, Cornwall, On K6J 1Y8.

KiteFest and People Festival Contest

Foundation of the Parade of nations, organizers added to the PeopleFest this year a KiteFest. The theme of the event this year: “Arts and Hobbies of the world”. The festivities will start with the parade on September 18th at 10:30 am at St Lawrence College; judging of vehicles of all kinds and floats will be held at 9:30 am. Please register ahead of time by calling 613-936-6873. Other festivities will take place until 19th September 9:00 pm in Lamoureux Park, on Water Street, in Cornwall.
KiteFest and People Festival Contest

This event is ALL ABOUT “US”. Information about the floats, vehicles, motorcycles, wheelchairs, national and clown costumes, aboriginal outfits, food art and photography contests, KiteFest, the Gigantic Trade Show and Entertainment can be found at www.paradeofnations.com , under Peoples’ Festival or by calling 613-936-6873. This event is also a fundraiser for developmentally challenged people of the community.
