Meet Lise Piette

Lise Piette, whose maiden name is Laflèche, was born in Casselman, Ontario, moved to Cornwall at the age of two when her father came to work for Vic Abraham Construction even though he spoke very little English. Lise worked, for 20 years, as secretary / receptionist for Le Journal de Cornwall. She has three children: André, Adèle and Ronald all living in Cornwall and three step children: Nicole, Lise and the late Gail, as well as grand children. She also owns a Maltese, born in July 2010, called “Snuggles” which was purchased in Ottawa.

Lise has been collecting butterflies for over 30 years since she was attracted by their colours; on the other hand she is terrified of caterpillars. When her loving companion Paul Lauzon passed away, on December 3rd 2009, as part of the funeral arrangements, she had cards and bookmarks made with his picture on it and a butterfly.

Now over thirty years ago Lise was promoted to Manager for Tupperware and had to give her team a gift and a name. Consequently, the girls each got a broach and were called “The Butterflies”.

Her favorite item is a golden wind chime she displays in her living room, which she picked up during her travel in Wyoming while visiting her late step daughter.

Lise is a busy lady. Her passion lays in doing paintings by numbers; however, once they are completed one would never believe it was made using a kit. She also loves doing needlepoint on plastic canvas. She was commissioned by the owner of the Seaway Lighthouse 3rd Rail Modular Train Club to make a train set composed of six wagons; this project took over a hundred hours. Lise is presently working on an enormous doll house cottage. In addition, she enjoys sewing, knitting and doing jigsaw puzzles. Lise also volunteers for Parade of Nations.

Thanks Lise for sharing your passion with us.
